Introduction

Our research focuses on contemporary life and changing needs in urban and rural communities, drawing on direct observation and ethnography. Current projects include a major exercise to map Britain's unmet needs; research on the dynamics of far right extremism and belonging; and thinking of new ways to reinvigorate political parties.

The team's work is structured around six key themes: Social Needs; Social Innovation; Civic and Political Engagement; Belonging and Integration; Cities and Lifecycles.
