Local Innovation

Local Innovation is a new team at the Young Foundation that brings together our work on neighbourhoods, wellbeing and local government innovation.

The aim of the team is to accelerate local authority action and innovation around neighbourhood empowerment, community engagement, and wellbeing, by working with local authorities, the voluntary and community sector, public agencies and central government.

Our work will focus on finding ways to promote innovation in these areas, combining action research, practical projects and policy development work to achieve this.

The team's work will be structured within three overarching strands:

Consortiums

- Transforming Neighbourhoods

- Local Wellbeing

Research

- Local Social Innovation

- Frontline Councillors

- Housing Associations and Neighbourhood Governance

- Understanding Social Networks in Neighbourhoods

Pilots and Innovations

- Neighbourhood Taskforces

- Neighbourhood Fix It

- Neighbourhood Know-How
