Grandparents Plus
Grandparents Plus promotes the vital role of grandparents and the extended family in children's lives, particularly where parents are no longer able to care for their children. We do this through partnerships, evidence based projects and training to support practitioners, and through networks, newsletters and consultation to give grandparents, extended families and grandchildren a voice.
Grandparents Plus:
1 - delivers training, workshops, seminars and conferences
2 - delivers intergenerational projects
3 - is working with others to extend the Learning with Grandparents project
4 - is developing the Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Network
5 - uses our experience and work to influence policy and practice
6 - communicates our work to grandparents, the media, practioners, government and others
7 - supports the South East kinship care network
8 - is exploring the feasibility of "grandparent" Champions
9 - facilitates research in partnership with others
10 - works in partnership with others to maximise our impact
Grandparents Plus aims to raise the profile of grandparents and the extended family as providers of essential care, especially to vulnerable children.
