Helen Forrest

Helen Forrest Helen joined the Young Foundation in April 2008 and is on a one year secondment from the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP). She is working on the Fastlaners project, a pre-employment 'finishing school' for young people in East London as well as supporting other research projects.

Helen previously worked for the Director General of Strategy and Pensions at DWP during the publicaiton of the May 2006 White Paper Security in Retirement: towards a new pensions system and has worked on the subsequent pensions Bills, the Pensions Act 2007 and the Pensions Bill 2007.

Prior to that Helen spent a year working for regional government in her home town of Newcastle after working with Raleigh International in Chile, helping to build a medical centre on a remote island off the west coast and trekking and ice climbing in Patagonia.
