Mandeep Hothi

Mandeep HothiMandeep is an Associate in the Local Innovation Team and joined the Young Foundation in September 2007.  He works on both the Wellbeing Project and the Neighbourhood Action Network.  

Most recently Mandeep has authored a report on the relationship between community empowerment and wellbeing.  For the Neighbourhood Action Network he has recently completed projects on neighbourhood working in diverse areas, as well as measuring the impact of neighbourhood working.

His current work is mainly associated with the concepts of neighbourliness and belonging, and as part of the Local Wellbeing project he is undertaking work on how you practically measure wellbeing at the local level. 

More about Mandeep...

Mandeep holds a masters degree in Regeneration from Cardiff University. In a previous incarnation he was a community worker and has worked in both rural and urban areas.  His first job was in the South Wales Valleys, where he was trying to involve the regions small minority ethnic population in the Welsh Assembly's flagship regeneration programme, Commmunities First.  Prior to joining the Young Foundation, Mandeep worked on a Neighbourhood Management initiative in Queen's Park, North West London. 

His community work has given him a range of experiences, from organising local festivals to delivering citizenship classes in primary and secondary schools. He has recently become a trustee for Hackney Voluntary Action.
