WED 15.10.08In March 2007 the Young Foundation hosted a seminar to discuss the findings from our research project 'Good Neighbours', part of the Local Innovation team’s work.
The seminar began with a presentation outlining to the group the project’s research methodology and the story that has emerged from our numerous interviews with housing associations, service providers, local authorities and tenants. We then moved onto to discussing the policy implication that arose from these findings, both for government and for the Housing Corporation.
The seminar was intended to stimulate feedback to our work and to ensure that our upcoming report will be able to identify which of our findings will have most relevance for the social housing sector. In particular we put three questions to our audience for their feedback, they were:
1. What is most relevant and new from our project?
2. Where are the weaknesses, and what would you like to see most of?
3. How can these findings influence policy and practice most effectively?
Representatives from the Housing Corporation, the Audit Commission, English Partnerships, the National Housing Federation, CABE, the Chartered Institute of Housing, the Local Government Association, the Development Trust Association, Sheffield Homes, Derby Homes, and several Young Foundation Fellows, including Trica Zipfel and Malcolm Dean attended.
