The Young Foundation at the Compass Conference
The Compass Conference 2006 - THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME – A manifesto to change our world over the next 20 years - was held at Westminster Central Hall on the 17th June.
The Young Foundation ran a seminar entitled Social Innovation: innovating new solutions to social challenges - past, present and future and was very well attended. Oona King chaired the session with Geoff, Hilary Cottam (Director of Design Council’s RED) and Mustafa Suleyman (Founding member and Trustee of Muslim Youth Helpline) on the panel to outline the need for new social innovation and its impact. There was also an exhibition room on site where the Foundation had a stall with promotional material and the latest publications for sale.
Over 1200 delegates attended the 2006 Compass national conference that included over 70 major speakers as well as over 30 sessions organised by all the leading think-tank and pressure group organisations.
