Ruth Lister

Ruth joined the Loughborough University in January 1994. Prior to that she was Professor and Head of the Department of Applied Social Studies at the University of Bradford for six years. From 1971 to 1987, she worked for the Child Poverty Action Group (CPAG), a national campaigning charity, the last eight years as Director.

Ruth graduated from the University of Essex in 1970 with a BA (Hons) in Sociology and holds an MA in Multi-Racial Studies from the University of Sussex and an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Manchester.
